State Pairs

Numurkah Town were the hosts for the State Pairs which were held in challenging conditions. Players experienced varied conditions which included rain, thunder, lightning and gusty winds.

The women played their semi finals in the morning. Marj McDonald and Joy Mynard from Cobram won the first semi final against the Tocumwal Golf pair of Judy Harvie and Effie Eaton. The other semi final saw Loris Houlihan of Numurkah Golf and Jenny Warfe of Cobram defeat Ann Dealy and Pam Smith from Numurkah Town. In the final Loris Houlihan and Jenny Warfe were able to handle the conditions better, and came out winners on the day 23-9.

The men played the quarter and semi finals. In the semi finals Chris Philpot and Roy Taylor of Tocumwal Golf defeated Michael Williams and Jimmy Solanki of Wunghnu, and Barry Cosgrove of Wunghnu and Joe Luci of Numurkah Golf defeated Russel Smith of Wunghnu and Don Staggard of Numurkah Town.

The Men’s final will be played on a date to be announced in the new year.
