60 & Over Pairs

After two days of entertaining bowls the finals of the 60 & Over Pairs were played at the Numurkah Golf & Bowls Club.

In the Men’s final the Wunghnu pair of Graham King and Ray Hill came back from being well down, to defeat the Cobram pair of John Dixon and Geoff Westmore 18-11.

In the semi finals the Wunghnu boys had defeated Ross Higgins and Peter Caulfield of Numurkah Bowls Club 17-8, and John and Geoff had defeated Steve Guille and John Baker of Tocumwal 19-9.

In the Ladies final the Tocumwal pair of Leigh Hansen and Helen Bowman were too good on the day for Loris Houlihan and Jan Niven of Numurkah Golf & Bowls. The final score was 16-9.

In the semi finals Loris & Jan had defeated Kerry Baldacchino and Chris Dunne of Cobram 21-6, while Leigh and Helen had a tough battle against their Tocumwal teammates of Cheryl Mears and Ellen Williamson, finally winning 14-13.
