State Fours Finals

The State Fours finals for the Murray Playing Area were held today at Wunghnu. The club is to be congratulated on the excellent presentation of their greens, not an easy task considering recent weather conditions.

In the Men’s game the Numurkah Golf & Bowls rink of Mark Jones, Joe Luci, Keith Holland and Michael Kirk had a day where everything went their way. Michael had substituted for Bayden Parkinson who was unable to play due to a school camp. They came out winners 21/1 over the Wunghnu rink of Peter Revell, Graham King, Michael Williams and Doug Larkin.  The scoreboard does not reflect the standard of the game.

The women’s match was a much tighter contest. The Numurkah Golf & Bowls team of Jan Niven, Yvonne Clark, Jenny Sutcliffe and Katrina Glover started very well before the combined team of Nan Smith (Finley), Jenny Warfe (Cobram), Tracey Emery (Cobram) and Tracey Miles (Finley) staged a comeback and were eventual winners 20/15.
