Saturday Pennant Premiers

The finals of the Saturday Pennant competition were played at Berrigan where the many spectators created a festive atmosphere, and were treated to some wonderful bowling.

In the showcase Division 1 final Katandra West took on Numurkah Golf. Despite winning on two of the three rinks Numurkah Golf went down to Katandra West 56 to 48. Katandra will now play the Goulburn Valley Division 1 Premiers, Tallygaroopna, on Wednesday 13 March at Numurkah Bowls Club, play to commence at 6pm.

In Division 2 Strathmerton were too strong for Finley, winning on all rinks to give a final result of 82 to 47.

Numurkah Golf also won on all three rinks against Nathalia in Division 3, giving a final result of 74 to 36.

In Division 4 Katandra West completed the trifecta for the club by defeating Numurkah 38 to 31 shots. Katandra West have had a very successful season. They fielded two teams in Saturday Pennant and one team in Midweek Pennant – all of whom were premiers in their respective sections. A magnificent achievement for a small club.

The Division 5 match saw Numurkah win on all rinks to defeat Picola 49 to 28 shots.
