Saturday Pennant Finals

Numurkah Bowls Club were the hosts for the Division 1 and 2 finals on Saturday.

Only two clubs were involved in the fight for victory – Cobram and Wunghnu – with the honours being shared.

In Division 1 Wunghnu were the eventual winners. They won on three of the four rinks with a final score of 69 shots to 62.

Wunghnu will now play in the CGM State Pennant Sides Championship to be held at Stanhope Bowls Club on Saturday 10 April. They will play their first match at 12.15pm and their second at 3pm, against Goulburn Valley in one and Central in the other.

Saturday Division 2 winners – Cobram Bowling Club

What started out as a close game in Division 2, ended with a convincing win to Cobram. The end result was a win on three of the four rinks, and a final score of 81 shots to 53.

Strathmerton Bowls Club hosted the Division 3 and 4 finals.

In Division 3 Jerilderie were determined to not repeat their semi final performance. They were too strong for Numurkah, winning on all rinks for a final score of 73 shots to 45.

Division 4 was a playoff between the two Numurkah teams. The end result was a reversal of the second semi-final with Numurkah 4 being victorious 40 shots to 30.
