Murray takes 3 out of 4 in Over 60’s Region Finals

Numurkah Golf and Bowls Club was the venue for the Over 60’s Regional Finals.

In the Women’s 60 and Over Singles Lidija Patching from Numurkah Golf and Bowls Club was the winner due to a forfeit by Rushworth’s Jean Sprague.

Joe Greco of Kyabram and Barry Cosgrove of Wunghnu had a good tussle in the Men’s 60 and Over Singles, with Barry coming home with a 21 -16 win.

The women’s Pair of Marg Thorne and Sue Tyson from Shepparton Park Bowls Club were too strong for the Numurkah Golf pair of Jan Niven and Yvonne Clark, winning 20 – 9.

The Men’s Pairs saw Wunghnu’s Barry Cosgrove take to the green again, this time with partner Joe Luci from Numurkah Golf. They took on the Shepparton Golf pair of Frank Ivak and Geoff Cobbledick. Barry made it a double for the day when he and Joe finished the day with a 19-9 win.

Marj McDonald and Alan Rogers from the Goulburn Murray Regional Board presented the winners with their prize money.

The winners will now represent the Region in the State Championships to be held at Bendigo Bowls Club from the 16 – 18 February this year. We wish them all good bowling.
