Murray Champion of Champions

The finals of the Murray Playing Area Champion of Champions singles were played on the excellent Cobram greens.

In the Men’s final Barry Cosgrove of Wunghnu was too consistent for Berrigan’s Rick Bradbury, winning 25/9. In the semi-finals Barry had defeated Warren Snow of Katandra West 25/9, and Rick had defeated Mick Ryan of Strathmerton 25/21.

The women’s final was an exceptional game of draw bowls by both players.  Lidija Patching of Numurkah Golf  & Bowls Club outlasted Jenny O’Connor of Numurkah Bowls Club, to win 25/23. In the semi-finals Lidija had defeated Nan Smith of Finley Bowls Club 25/12, and Jenny had defeated Karen Peacock of Picola Bowls Club 25/6.

Congratulations to all participants on the excellent bowls displayed over the two days. We wish Barry and Lidija good bowling when they take on the Goulburn Valley Region champions on Sunday 12 March.
