Champion of Champions Pairs decided

Some excellent bowls were played at Cobram in the finals of the Champion of Champions Pairs.

In the Women’s Final Lidija Patching and Robyn Hodgkin of Numurkah Golf & Bowls won a tightly fought contest with Judy Harvie and Effie Eaton of Tocumwal Golf & Bowls. The final score was 12/10.

Earlier Lidija and Robyn had defeated Karen Peacock and Julie Berger of Picola 28/9; and Judy and Effie had defeated Carol Wigg and Elaine Blizzard of Barooga Sports 20/9.

The Men’s final saw Ashleigh Haines and Tony Turner of Finley Bowls Club come out winners over Don Staggard and Tom Brown of Numurkah Bowls Club 20/13.

In the semi finals Ashleigh and Tony had defeated Willie Nelson and Peter Wood of Barooga Sports 24/8, and Don and Tom had defeated Peter Young and Ross Kirkham of Strathmerton Bowls Club 13/9.

The Champion of Champions will now play off against the Goulburn Valley Playing Area champions on 12 March 2023.
