Women’s Triples & Over 60’s Singles

The finals of the Women’s State Triples were played on the very slick Wunghnu greens between teams from Numurkah Golf & Bowls Club and Cobram Bowling Club.

Both teams struggled with the wind, but the Numurkah Golf team of Lidija Patching, Robyn Hodgkin and Maree Luci came out on top of the Cobram trio of Marj McDonald, Kerry Baldacchino and Chris Dunne 21/9.

The Men’s final is to be played at a later date between teams from Wunghnu and Numurkah Golf & Bowls.

Later in the week the Over 60 Singles were played at the well prepared Numurkah Bowls Club greens. The semi-finals were a tussle between two Numurkah Bowls Club players and two Numurkah Golf and Bowls players. Loris Houlihan of Numurkah Golf won over Ann Milkins of Numurkah 21/8 and Numurkah Golf’s Lidija Patching won a tightly contested match with Helen Pickersgill of Numurkah 21/11. Some wonderful shots were played by all bowlers with the scores not being an indication of the closeness of the games.

The final then became a contest between the two Numurkah Golf players with Lidija earning the honours with a 21/12 win.

The Men’s Final between Rod Brown of Club Tocumwal and John McKenzie of Wunghnu will be played at Barooga on 13 November.
