Smethurst scoops the pool in Over 60’s

In the Over 60’s Singles last Wednesday, Ian Smethurst from Barooga Sports won a tight match against Ross Higgins from Numurkah (21/19), to take the title of Over 60’s Singles Champion. This added to his success from a fortnight earlier when he and teammate Jeff Nisbet defeated Rod Brown and Tony Turner from Finley RSC (18/9) in the Over 60’s Men’s Pairs.

Over 60’s Singles Champion Loris Houlihan

In the Women’s Over 60’s Singles it was Loris Houlihan from Numurkah Golf and Bowls who won out over Jenny Warfe of Cobram 21/11, to take the title of Over 60’s Singles Champion. The Barooga Sports pair of Kerry Ralph and Cheryl Townsing won the Over 60’s Pairs with a good win over Ieva Saunders and Jenny Warfe of Cobram 14/3.

The winners will now progress to the Central Goulburn Murray Championships to be held in February 2021. Well done to all.
