Over 60 Pairs

The finals of the Over 60 Pairs were played at Barooga on Wednesday. Both the men’s and women’s finals were neck and neck in the first half of of the game, but in each case the winners forged ahead in the second half for convincing wins.

In the men’s final the Club Tocumwal pair of Rod Brown and Stephen Guille overcame the Barooga Sports pair of Chris Philpot and John Bruce with a 21/14 win.

The women’s final saw Loris Houlihan of Numurkah Golf and Bowls along with her Finley partner Nan Smith, come out victors over the Picola pair of Sue Jamison and Karen Peacock 25/14.

The Over 60 events held in the Murray Playing Area are no longer State Events, so the winners do not progress to the State Finals in Bendigo. The Over 60 State Titles are decided at a Statewide Carnival which will be held in the Barham area in May 2025.
