Important Message to all bowlers

Attention: Murray Bowls Division Club Secretaries and Presidents

Bowls Victoria have carried out a boundary review with the aim of maintaining the game of bowls into the future. An overview of the new governance structure, plus some frequently asked questions published by Bowls Victoria, which were forwarded to all Clubs on April 7th.

The decision is to keep the 16 regions, but to dissolve the divisional administrations.  For us this means that the Central, Murray and Goulburn divisions will no longer exist, and we will be administered by one CGM Region Board.  Club administrations will remain unchanged.

These changes are to be implemented for the 2021/22 season. At the moment we think that there will be minimal changes to whom and where we play.

We are also calling for expressions of interest from people interested in assisting us to go forward. Members will be needed on the new CGM Region Board and its various Committees.

Could all Secretaries and/or Presidents please ensure that your Club members are made aware of the proposed changes. We realise that that this will be difficult at the moment, but please try to chase up with as many of your respective Members and/or Committees.

Bowls Victoria is requesting feedback from our region by 30 April. Murray Division therefore needs feedback from all clubs by 23 April so that our representatives can present our views to Bowls Victoria through our CGM executive.

Although bowls is suspended, planning is not.

Finally, on behalf of the Board of Murray Bowls Division, I hope and wish that you and your fellow Club members stay safe in these unprecedented and trying times.

Regards,

Andrew Rushby, Secretary, Murray Bowls Division on behalf of the Executive.
